Upon arrival at the Old School Lodge the onsite Warden will introduce the Lodge and help you to settle in. He will also provide you with some local information. Below is some useful local information you might need before your stay.

Supermarkets

The nearest convenience/grocery store is the SPAR in New St in the village, this stocks a range of groceries and basic convenience items.

The nearest large supermarket is TESCO’s, Caernarfon Road (A4087), Bangor, Tel: 01248 287400 which is open 24-hours (except Sunday) and will deliver orders taken on-line.

From the Centre it is best reached by travelling north along the A4244 to the Tea Rooms roundabout, continuing straight on the B4547 until it reaches the Caernarfon Road at a T-junction, turning right, take 2nd exit at the roundabout on to on the A4087, straight on at roundabout passing under the A55, and it’s at the next roundabout on the right (SH562699).

Welsh (language) churches in the village. Most denominations served in Bangor. There is an R.C. church in Llanberis (Mass at 9.00 a.m. on Sunday), in the High Street about 100 yards from and opposite the Tourist Information Office.

Rail Services

Bus Services

No. 85 (Bangor - Deiniolen - Llanberis). Buses to/from Bangor go via the train station and terminate at Bangor Cloc (Stand B). Connect from Deiniolen via No. 85 to Snowdon Sherpa service S1 from Llanberis (pick up opp. Joe Brown’s) to Pen-y-Pass. No. 83 (Caernarfon - Deiniolen - Dinorwic) Buses to Caernarfon terminate at Caernarfon (Penllyn) Bus Station (Stand B). Bus frequency is approximately 1-hour intervals.
